Started by Strep Cunt in 2007. Baron Von Gonkulator and Thor were recruited in 2009. A demo limited to 100 cassette copies was released on Bestial Burst. Recently, Thor switched duties from keyboard to second bass.

I can't formally retract the erroneous 2.0 I gave this back in 2018, but I can say that, five years on, I've come around to this record in a big way. Quality death metal with great atmosphere without being "atmospheric" (read: boring) metal.

Beautiful and not-overlong atmospheric moments as natural breaths between hard hitting passages and a strong musical theme throughout the work make this an album worth experiencing. It's hard to listen to only one song here without listening to them all which I think says a lot about the consistency and balance of the track list. I have been converted and am now a Phrenelith fan!

Akitsa has been among my top tier for a decade, and this is probably their most consistent album. Their experimental period seems to be over and they've definitely settled on an overall sound here, not too far from early Burzum. It's great, although I do miss the unhinged, hateful vibe of their earlier stuff.
